Most violence recorded against women in 2020, shocking figures revealed

New Delhi: The year 2020 has left that deep scar of the corona epidemic, from which the world has still not recovered. Last year people struggled with restrictions like lockdown. During this time, children and women had a lot of problems. India is also not untouched by this. According to the data of the National Commission for Women, shocking information has come to the fore. According to the report, the National Commission for Women received the highest number of complaints of violence against women in the last six years in the year 2020.

According to NCW data, nearly one-fourth of the 23,722 complaints are of domestic violence cases. According to the data of the National Commission for Women, the maximum number of complaints came from Uttar Pradesh. 11,872 cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, 2,635 in Delhi, 1266 in Haryana, and 1188 in Maharashtra. Of these, a total of 5,294 complaints are of domestic violence. Out of 23,722 complaints, 7708 complaints have been filed under Right to Life with dignity.

The National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma said that domestic violence has increased in the year 2020 due to economic insecurity, rising levels of stress, anxiety, financial problem, and no emotional support from family.
