Umar Khalid expressed his objection during the hearing on Tuesday in the Karkardooma court of Delhi, where the cases related to Delhi violence are going on. He has said against not receiving the copy of the charge sheet, against his right to fair trial. Umar Khalid, who was accused in serious sections like UAPA, was presented his favor in the court on the objection. The court was told by the government that there is no problem in it and Umar will be provided a copy of the charge sheet on the jail computer, which he will be able to read.

The other accused of violence in the hearing, Sharjeel Imam and Athar Khan also spoke. Sharjeel demanded a fair trial and said that when violence erupted, he was in jail and he had no role in it. Athar Khan told the court that whenever he goes out for medical checkup, he has to stay quarantined for 14 days, even he is not allowed to meet his lawyer. Athar Khan said that the jail personnel who go out every day are not quarantined, but I am done every time.
