Amritsar: Former Punjab minister and veteran Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu raised black flags at his house in support of the farmers' movement. Sidhu has put up black flags at his residences in Patiala and Amritsar. On May 26 the farmers agitation completes six months. This day is being celebrated as Farmers Black Day. Preparations are underway in villages of Punjab for Black Day, people are stitching black flags and black clothes. Sidhu has also put up a black flag at his residence today. Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu had tweeted on Monday that he would hoist a black flag at his house in support of farmers and appealed to others to do the same. Sidhu tweeted, "In support of the farmers' performance, I will hoist the black flag at 9.30 am tomorrow at both my houses (Amritsar and Patiala).... Everyone is requested to do the same unless these black laws are withdrawn or an alternative process of fixed MSP and procurement is made available through the State Government.'' Farmers from Punjab are marching in large numbers to the border of Delhi. The claim was made by the leaders of the Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhakiu). He said that six months of farmers' protest against the Centre's three agricultural laws are coming to an end on May 26 and farmers are marching on the call of the organization to celebrate the day as 'Black Day'.
