Amritsar: Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu arrived at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib on Saturday, just three days after the Kartar Pur corridor was reopened, where he was accorded a grand welcome. Sidhu also held discussions with Mohammad Latif, CEO of the management unit of Kartar Pur project and said that 'Pak PM Imran Khan is like my elder brother.' It may be recalled that Sidhu's visit to Kartarpur was scheduled for November 18, however. But the Home Ministry had included his name in the list of Sikh devotees of the third batch citing security concerns. The delegation led by CM Charanjeet Singh Channi did not include Sidhu's name who reached Kartarpur Sahib on Thursday. Sidhu was told late on Wednesday night that his name figured in the third list of VIP people visiting Kartar Pur Sahib gurdwara on November 20, a day after Guruparva. His media advisor Jagtar Sidhu said, 'The form was filled in time to seek permission. But PPCC Chairman was not included in Channi's official delegation.' However, the Chief Minister's Office had said in a statement that a list of 50 VIPs including Sidhu, PPCC executive chairpersons and senior MLAs was sent to the Home Ministry on the evening of November 16. However, citing security concerns, the Centre refused to allow all VIPs to visit Kartarpur Sahib on the same day and divided the VIP into three groups.
