NGO manager kidnapped by 3 Delhi Police personnel

New Delhi: Three Delhi policemen have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the manager of an NGO in the national capital and demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his family to release him. Police are interrogating the accused and conducting further investigation.

The accused have been identified as Pradeep Pradhan (31), Constable Amit Yadav (30) and Tejwinder Singh (43). Pradeep was posted in the special cell while Amit and Tejwinder were posted in other departments of Delhi Police. According to police, the case came to light on Thursday when the accused policemen raided the premises of the NGO alleging that illegal call centres were operating. A senior police official said police personnel illegally caught the manager on the pretext of investigation and started demanding Rs 5 lakh to release him.

He said an FIR has been registered at Paharganj police station in connection with the case. All the three accused police personnel have been arrested and we will take strict departmental action against them. At present, the three accused are being questioned by the police.
