Chandigarh: Former Punjab Congress unit chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is all set to meet state CM Bhagwant Mann on Monday. He himself announced this meeting through a tweet. Interestingly, the meeting between the two leaders is going to take place at a time when Sidhu is facing resentment from the Congress high command and opposition from party leaders. According to the media report, Sidhu is already facing potential disciplinary action due to alleged anti-party activities. At the same time, Punjab affairs in-charge Harish Chaudhary has demanded the committee issue a show-cause notice against him. Chaudhary has written a letter to the party's interim president Sonia Gandhi, saying that he has received a written note from Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading. Chaudhary said Wading has stressed in his letter that former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu should not show himself as "above the party". Earlier, due to the "anti-party comments", the Congress had also removed former state president Sunil Jakhar from all posts. Interestingly, the complaint regarding Sidhu has been sent to the disciplinary committee of the AICC, but it was cancelled due to the non-availability of all the members. The report quoted Congress sources as saying that Sidhu had not told Wading about his meeting. However, now it will be worth seeing what comes out of Sidhu and Mann's meeting.
