NC convenes meeting today after HC told 'None of the leaders in house arrest'

Jammu: Angered by the government's reply to the court on the detention of leaders in the Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference has called a meeting of party leaders on Thursday in which further plans will be discussed.

The party president Farooq Abdullah has invited senior leaders of the party, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Abdul Rahim, Mohammad Shafi, in a meeting called on Thursday at 5 pm. This is the first time after August 5, 2019, when political leaders will meet. It should be noted that the government had filed a reply in the High Court that no party leader is under house arrest. Many leaders have been invited.

On the other hand, along with two employees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board of the state, 23 CRPF jawans, two policemen, a doctor from SMGS Hospital Jammu, a pharmacist, a gardener from Raj Bhavan, Jammu, including 708 new infected cases of Corona reported on Wednesday.  This includes 102 cases from Jammu division and 606 from Kashmir. The number of cases has reached 30034 in the state. Out of 6965 active cases, 1491 cases are from Jammu division and 5474 are from Kashmir. Meanwhile, in the last twenty-four hours, 11 more people died in Kashmir after suffering from coronavirus. So far 573 people have died in the state, including 531 cases from Kashmir.
