New Delhi: A 17-year-old teenager shot his younger sister in the Welcome area of north-eastern Delhi. He was angry at his sister for talking to a boy and chatting on WhatsApp. The incident is on Thursday. A 16-year-old girl has been admitted to a private hospital. She has a bullet in her stomach and is currently being put out of danger. The police have nabbed the accused brother and is being questioned. A case of attempt to murder has also been registered at the Welcome Police Station. According to the information received, the victim lived with her parents and brother. She does not go to school. According to police, the brother had seen her talking to a boy several times over the phone. Brother also interrupted her several times over chatting on WhatsApp. According to police, the girl did not accept even after repeated refusal. On Thursday, the brother again saw his sister talking to the boy. When both were upset, the boy brought out the pistol and shot it in the sister's stomach. The parents immediately rushed the injured girl to the hospital from where the police was informed. North-East DCP Ved Prakash Surya told the media that the boy is studying in open schooling and works in a salon. A pistol allegedly used in the incident has also been recovered from him. According to Surya, "the boy said that he had received a weapon from a friend who had passed away three-four months ago." Police are investigating the veracity of this claim.
