New Delhi: A Delhi court rejected the bail plea of a lawyer accused of forging the signature of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath with the intention of appointing him as Special Public Prosecutor in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Metropolitan Magistrate Ashwini Panwar said that she had no right to be soft in view of the serious allegations against accused Rakesh Kumar Awasthi. The judge said that in view of the seriousness and nature of the crime, the applicant / accused has no right to be lenient on the grounds that he has been practising since 1991. There is a serious charge against him for writing fake recommendation letters. Justice said that the present bail application is dismissed accordingly.
In the bail application, advocate Rakesh Kumar Awasthi claimed that his image is very good and he has been implicated in this case under a conspiracy. He refused to produce any fake documents and said he was innocent. The prosecution claims that the accused has been involved in such a crime before, so he should not be granted bail.
