He went to the beach with his family amid the lockdown. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the resignation of David Clarke on Thursday. Earlier, Prime Minister Jacinda refused to remove David, saying that David Clarke had played an important role in stopping Corona in the country. However, now PM Jacinda Ardern said that she agrees with David Clarke's decision. Jacinda declared New Zealand as Corona-free in the beginning of June.

A few days after the announcement of New Zealand being Coronomous, two women who returned from Britain were found to be Corona positive.
