Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is heading to the United States of America today (April 18) for an official visit. During the visit, the finance Minster will attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank spring meetings during her visit. She will also attend the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) sessions of the G20. "Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman will be going to the United States on an official visit beginning April 18, 2022," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement. Sitharaman will attend bilateral discussions with Indonesia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and South Africa during her visit to the United States. She will also meet one-on-one with CEOs from the semiconductor, energy, and other government-priority industries. The Finance Minister will also meet with David Malpass, President of the World Bank, in a high-level meeting. Finance Minister Sitharaman will take part in a high-level panel discussion on "Money at a Crossroad" held by the IMF's Managing Director during her visit. Apart from the official meetings with the World Bank, IMF, G-20, and Financial Action Task Force, the Finance Minister will also speak at an event hosted by the Atlantic Council, a prominent Regulatory in Washington, DC, and interact with Stanford University academics and students.
