New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari launched the National Road Safety Month on January 18 today with an aim to create awareness about road safety in India and reduce road accidents. After inaugurating the inaugural function of National Road Safety Month at Vigyan Bhawan, Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that 415 people are dying daily in the road accident in the country.

He said that if we continue to see the path till 2030, about 6-7 lakh people will die due to this. "By 2025, we will be able to make road accident deaths and accidents below 50% in collaboration with your support. Our desire is to open driving schools in backward areas," Nitin Gadkari said. This will enable 22 lakh people to get employment. If you are trained properly, people will survive. The Ministry of Skill Development and our Ministry are working together as driving training schools in backward and tribal areas.

In the inaugural function of the National Road Safety Month at Vigyan Bhawan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also said, "The number of road accidents that are taking place in our country causes a loss of 3% of GDP in the economy of the country. Therefore, it is important to organise this National Road Safety Month every year. More than 1.5 lakh people have died due to the corona epidemic, but even today more people are being killed due to road accidents. This is not a normal challenge for us.
