Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka has become one of the highest paid women in the world in 2021. Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has moved up to seventh in Forbes' list of top 10 highest paid women players. Out of 10 players, a total of 5 are tennis including the top three. Two golf players each are gymnastics, badminton and basketball. The top 10 players together earned about Rs 1238 crore ($167 million) last year, up 23 per cent from the previous year and 16 per cent higher than 2013. Naomi earned nearly Rs 424 crore ($57.3 million) from prize money and advertisements last year, the highest grosser of a female player in a calendar year. Williams sisters Serena and Venus are second and third respectively. Sindhu is ranked 7th with around Rs 53 crore ($7.2 million).
