North Korea drops to 174th place On the international corruption index

North Korea dropped four places in an annual international corruption rating to 174th out of 180 countries last year, according to a report released on Tuesday by an anti-corruption monitor.

The solitary According to reports, North scored 16 out of 100 on Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) study, down two points from the previous year.

The index ranks countries according to how corrupt their public sector is viewed, based on data gathered "by a number of credible agencies, including the World Bank and the World Economic Forum."

According to the watchdog, North Korea lacks "fundamental institutional infrastructure, such as systems for administration and rule of law, to build an integrity system."

With 62 points, South Korea moved up to 32nd place, while Denmark, Finland, and New Zealand tied for first place with 88 points. With 11 points, South Sudan was at the bottom of the rankings
