Odisha Govt allows employees to submit property statement till April 30

The deadline for officials to submit their yearly property return details has been extended by the Odisha government to April 30.  In a circular to all departments, Revenue Divisional Commissioners, and District Collectors, the General Administration and Public Grievances Department stated that officials must submit their yearly property report for the period of January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The officials were originally meant to file the property return by December 31. It was, however, later extended until March 31, 2022.

However, the GA&PG Department was informed that some employees were unable to file their yearly property statement due to their preoccupation with the election to Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies or other obstacles, the official said.

In light of these challenges, the government has extended the deadline for submitting property statements online through the HRMS (human resource management system) portal until April 30, 2022, as per circular statement.

The circular reads, senior officers will notify their subordinate offices of the deadline extension. Employees have been instructed to file their property statement ahead of schedule rather than waiting until the deadline approaches.

Due to the current COVID-19 scenario, the administration had previously delayed the deadline three times. Despite the fact that there was no provision for making the property statement public, chief minister Naveen Patnaik announced in December 2020 that all government employees from entry-level to chief secretary, as well as people's representatives from ward member to chief minister, would reveal their property details.
