WhatsApp once again banned more than 20 lakh accounts

In December 2021, WhatsApp has banned more than 20 lakh Indian accounts. Behind this, the company has explained the reason for the security. Along with this, 528 complaint reports have also been filed on the platform. Which the messaging platform has reported in the latest compliance report. WhatsApp is banning some accounts from which they receive complaints or which the company has started to suspect. The company has said in the report that most of the banned accounts have been blocked for bulk messaging.

Over 17 lakh accounts banned in November 2021: WhatsApp has released a report informing that in December 2021, 20 lakh 79 thousand accounts have also been banned. The company has said that 95 per cent of the accounts banned have been banned for unauthorized use of automated messaging or bulk messaging or spam. The company has already banned more than 17 lakh accounts in November 2021 after receiving complaints.

Separate complaints were filed: It has been said about the complaints received that out of the 528 reports received, 149 were about account support. At the same time, 303 reports have also been filed regarding the ban appeal. At the same time, 29 reports were received for other support and 32 reports for product support. There were also 13 reports about safety. This action means that either those accounts have been banned or the banned accounts have been restored again.

Report being submitted every month:  Where it is revealed that the new IT rules in India have been implemented in May 2021 last year. According to this, digital platforms with more than 50 lakh users will have to publish the report every month. All the information about the complaints received in this report and the action taken thereon is also to be provided. However, WhatsApp had earlier stressed that messaging on the platform is accompanied by the security of end-to-end encryption and WhatsApp does not have the facility to view the content.
