Recently, crime case has come to light from Guwahati. The Kamrup Fast Track Court has given its verdict in the case of burning of college student Shweta Agarwal alive. According to reports, the court convicted Govind Singhal of unilateral love and sentenced his mother and sister to life imprisonment in the case for convicted of murder, tampering with evidence and criminal conspiracy. According to reports in the case, Sessions Judge Aparesh Chakravarty had convicted Govind Singhal, his mother Kamala Devi and sister Bhawani for the murder of Shweta on July 30 and the defense counsel said that "they will appeal against the verdict in the High Court". All three have been sent to Guwahati Central Jail. According to media reports in the case, Shweta's burnt body was found from the toilet of Govind's house in Bharumukh area of Guwahati on December 2017. It was reported that Shweta topped the commerce stream in the 12th standard exam in 2015 and Govind and Shweta studied in the same college. Govind had brought Shweta to his home after the examination and the victim's lawyer Abhijit Bhattacharya said that "13 marks of injury were found on Shweta's body".
