Tragically, on July 26, 1999, while attempting to rescue an injured comrade, Captain Batra was killed. His bravery earned him the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military award. The peak where he fell is now known as 'Batra Top.' 2. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav, from the 18 Grenadiers, led a daring assault on Tiger Hill, which was crucial for the success of the mission. Climbing a steep cliff, Yadav and his platoon faced fierce enemy resistance. His heroic actions on July 4, 1999, were recognized with the Param Vir Chakra, awarded for his extraordinary bravery. 3. Lieutenant Keishing Clifford Nongrum Lieutenant Keishing Clifford Nongrum of the 12th Battalion, Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, was killed on July 1, 1999, while capturing Point 4812. He was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery. 11. Naik Digendra Kumar Naik Digendra Kumar of the 2nd Battalion, Rajputana Rifles, exhibited outstanding heroism during the Kargil War.
