Bhubaneswar: The total number of patients in Odisha has crossed seven lakh on Monday after 11,059 people were confirmed with corona virus infection. A health department official has informed about this. He said the state has the highest number of deaths in a day due to infection, raising the death toll to 2,516. He said that 6,193 cases are from quarantine centres, while the remaining 4,866 cases came to light during the investigation of people who came in contact with patients. The official said the new cases have taken the number of corona virus cases in the state to 7,03,441. Cuttack district has the highest number of 1,133 cases. This has been followed by 1,010 cases in Khurda and 859 in Angul. Khurda has the highest number of deaths due to infection . Four people each lost their lives in Ganjam and Jharsuguda and three each died of infection in Angul, Kalahandi and Sundergarh. So far 53 people already suffering from serious illness have succumbed to infection. 1,11,262 people are undergoing treatment in the state. On Sunday, 11,059 people recovered from the infection, and a total of 589,610 people have recovered from the infection so far. Odisha has so far tested more than 1.13 crore samples, including 66,512 samples on Sunday.
