Candidate gave lottery tickets to voters in Odisha elections, first prize 10 grams of gold

Bhubaneswar: A candidate for the post of sarpanch in Odisha's Kalahandi district has issued lottery tickets to his voters. The first prize is 10 grams of gold and the second is a fridge. But in Kuhora gram panchayat, Sushmita Naik has told the voters that the draw will be held only if she wins the elections to be held on February 16. If she wins, Sushmita Naik has promised to draw a draw at Kuhura village at 10.30 am on March 13.

In addition to the first two, there are washing machines, silver coins, wardrobes and mixer-grinders in the list of awards and to ensure that everyone wins something, it has also talked about giving 1,000 cotton sarees to those people. Naik distributed tickets during his door-to-door campaigning when he reached out to seek votes from the people of the village in the Golamunda block of Kalahandi. In all, more than 1,300 tickets have been distributed.

"I have been the daughter-in-law of the village for more than two decades and in all these years, I have not seen any development. I want to make it a model gram panchayat by connecting it with roads and developing the standard of living of the people. I'm spending money for the lottery out of my own pocket. If I win, I want to give awards to the people of my panchayat.''
