Osman Nagar tank water flooded 300 houses in adjoining houses

On Wednesday, Hyderabad weather gets sunshine. Ski is also clear, but near the Osman Nagar tank in Jalpalli municipality, Halima Begum sat down with her two children on a cement platform, looking at the distance, still drowning at their home.

She said, "It's almost a month now. I was with my husband and two children and my relatives. Our house was submerged when the tank was on the edge of its capacity and the water was drowned in the colony". Every day, she sits there for a few hours and comes to the tank in the hope that she can return to her home. About 300 odd houses were submerged in the area as the tank began to get a huge stream and overflow.

After the disappointment of the people, the Balapur police posted a picket on the tank bund without any disturbance. The police vehicle attached to the surveillance camera was also posted in the bund. "Our staff is monitoring the operations at the tank from the control room around the clock. People wanted the authorities to cut the bundand allow the water to come out. But this means that several hundred houses will be submerged on the other side of the tank," said a senior official of the Rachakonda police. Jalpalli municipal officials said that houses were built in the FTL area of the tank. "The irrigation department should call for the release of water from the tank," an official said.
