Death toll from Kenya landslides surges to 60

Nairobi: 60 people have died in the recent floods caused by heavy rains in West Kenya overnight. It is also being told that many people have died due to landslides. Joel Bulal, local administrator of West Pokot province, said that several people died due to landslides in Nyarkulian village and four others were missing in Parua village.

According to the information received, it was also learned that West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okello said that five other people died due to the car being washed away on the road between Ketale and Lodwar due to flooding in two rivers. More than a million people have been affected in East Africa due to floods after more than normal rainfall.

At the same time it has also been confirmed that the International Rescue Committee says that there was a drought in these areas earlier, due to which people were affected. Now it is raining more than normal in Somalia, Sudan and Kenya. The rain this year is unpredictable for these places. Experts claim that the changing nature of climate change is affecting. 100 percent of Kenya's agriculture has become dependent on rain.
