Indonesia: Volcanic eruption, ashes fly for 2 km

An alert has been issued for flights after the volcano eruption of Mount Sinabung in Indonesia on Thursday. After this explosion, there was 2 km of ash in the sky. This volcano has erupted for the eighth time in less than a week in Sumatra Island.

For the first time in 400 years, life started back at Sinabumba in 2010. This volcano, which has been dormant for many years, exploded once again in 2013 and has been active since then. In 2016, seven people died due to the eruption of the Sinabung volcano in 2016, while 16 people died in 2014. At the end of 2018, a volcano erupted in the Gulf between Java and Sumatra Islands and more than 400 people died due to underwater landslides and tsunamis. Indonesia has 130 active volcanoes and because of this it is called the Ring of Fire.

For your information, let us tell you that before this, the volcano which had been burning on the island of Sumatra since 2010 had once again erupted on Monday. It comes in the Sinabung 'Ring of Fire', one of Indonesia's 120 active volcanoes. After remaining calm for almost a year, when this volcano erupted, so much ash came out that two kilometers high in the sky became a huge mountain of smoke. Not only this, the ash released from it reached Berastagi, located 30 km away, and an alert had to be issued for passenger planes passing through this area.
