Over a property dispute, a Kerala man shoots his brother and uncle to death.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 55-year-old man killed his younger brother and critically injured his uncle in a rage, police said. The uncle later died in the early hours of Tuesday after a fight about selling family property.

On Monday evening, a horrible tragedy occurred at the residence of the famed Karimpanal family in Kanjirapally, Kottayam district. In the hilly hills of Kottayam district, the Karimpanal family has been involved in plantation and owns estates as well as resorts for decades.

According to authorities, George Kurian, 55, a resident of Kochi who works in real estate and is going to be dealing with the effects of the Covid epidemic, visited his ancestral home, where his parents also reside, over the weekend.

There were a few intense arguments between the siblings, and George intended to sell two acres of their property on Monday late evening, but his 50-year-old younger brother Renju Kurian protested.

The elderly parents, unable to observe what was going on, went inside their room. George desperately wanted to sell the land to get out of his current financial situation, but Renju refused, and intervening in the dispute was the siblings' 73-year-old uncle Mathew Kurian, who is said to have supported Renju.
