Ahmedabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has announced the names of his three candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. Among these three candidates, one is a Hindu candidate. A woman named Kaushika Ben Parmar has been fielded by Owaisi from his party from the Danilimda assembly seat. This is the first time Owaisi's party has given a ticket to a Hindu candidate in Gujarat. Along with Kaushikaben Parmar, the AIMIM has fielded former MLA and currently Gujarat AIMIM state president Sabir Kabliwala from the Jamalpur-Khadia assembly seat. Imran Khedawala is currently the MLA from the Congress party from this seat located on the edge of Ahmedabad. Fielding Sabir Kabliwala from the Muslim-Dalit-dominated seat could prove beneficial for Owaisi's party. Kaushikaben Parmar currently the head of AIMIM's women's wing Ahmedabad has been fielded by Owaisi's party from the Danilimda seat for the Gujarat Assembly elections scheduled later this year. Shailesh Parmar is the Congress MLA from Danilimda in East Ahmedabad. The constituency has a high number of Muslim and Dalit votes. Danilimda Assembly constituency is reserved for Scheduled Caste.
