Lucknow: Jailed Bahubali Atiq Ahmed has joined AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi to present his family's candidature in uttar pradesh assembly elections. Atiq's wife Shahista Parveen will contest from Prayagraj city West seat on a AIMIM ticket. This was informed by Mahmud, a senior officer of Prayagraj Division of AIMIM. It may be recalled that Atiq Ahmed has an old relationship with the western seat of Prayagraj city. Atiq had won the seat five times in a row and reached the assembly. He was also a Lok Sabha MP from Atiq Phulpur seat. Owaisi had inducted Shahista Parveen into the AIMIM after Atiq was jailed in Ahmedabad. Since then, speculations have been rife that Bahubali Atiq himself or a member of his family may enter the fray from the seat. Finally, his wife Shahista Parveen is going to get off the seat on a AIMIM ticket. Shahista Parveen is expected to be a thorn in the arm as she is a candidate in the seat. But it is not yet clear from which seat bahubali Atiq Ahmed himself will contest from in jail. There is talk that Atiq had sought his consent to enter the fray in three prayagraj seats, city West, South and Fafamau. With his wife's ticket confirmed in the city west seat, speculations have now started about Atiq and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf contesting the elections.
