Owaisi slams Amit Shah over 'teach a lesson' remark of 2002 Gujarat riots

HYDERABAD: AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday, saying that he is intoxicated by power after saying that the BJP taught rioters in Gujarat a lesson in 2002.

The Hyderabad MP responded to Amit Shah on Twitter. "Drunk high on power, India's home minister said we taught a lesson in 2002," Owaisi tweeted,

Shah was reminded by the AIMIM leader that power was transitory. Owaisi, who is presently campaigning for All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidates in the Gujarat Assembly elections, wrote: "After coming to power, some people forget that power does not always remain with someone."

Amit Shah was asked what lesson he had given in 2002 by Owaisi. "Are you Naroda Patiya ka sabaq? How much is a gulberg? Which bakery is the best? Bano ka sabaq Bilqis?, "He tweeted the question while posting a video of himself speaking at an electoral rally in Juhapura.

Amit Shah said at an electoral meeting in Gujarat on Friday that the BJP has achieved long-lasting calm in the state by establishing a lesson for the rioters of Gujarat in 2002.

I want to tell the home minister that the lesson you taught in 2002 was that Bilkis Bano's rapists will be freed. The less you taught was that you will free murderers of Bilkis' You also showed us how to murder Ahsan Jafri. You imparted knowledge about the Gulbarg Society and the Best Bakery, and we will never forget your lessons "said Owaisi. What lesson did you impart during the communal unrest in Delhi, Amit Shah sahab? he asked.
