Kolkata: Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari on Friday (November 25) met Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee. After this, Suvendu said that there has been a courtesy meeting between the two of us. According to the report, Mamata Banerjee wanted to meet Suvendu Adhikari. Along with Suvendu, MLAs Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Lahiri, and Manoj Tigga also went to meet Mamata.

It is noteworthy that the Leader of the Opposition, Dr. CV Anand Bose did not attend the swearing-in ceremony as governor over seat management. He had described Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the "most wretched politician ever born in India". BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted on the meeting and wrote, "Mamata Banerjee's arrogance is gathering dust. Eventually, she realized that in democratic politics, she could not ignore a strong opposition like the BJP. She bowed to find a middle ground on issues and met Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and three other BJP MLAs who defeated her in Nandigram.''

The BJP leader had expressed his displeasure in a series of tweets before the swearing-in ceremony. He had written that he would not attend the swearing-in ceremony as he was seated next to MLAs Krishna Kalyani and Biswajit Das, who contested on a BJP ticket, won, but later switched over to the TMC.
