P. Chidambaram reminds Indian voters of Joe Biden's remark

New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram has urged people from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and other parts of India to recall Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden's remarks in the US election while choosing "unity rather than division" while voting.

Biden had asked American voters to choose unity rather than divide, hoping to place fear. Chidambaram said that Indian voters should also vote on the same path. In Bihar, the first phase of assembly elections in three phases is on October 28. With this, by-elections to one Lok Sabha seat and 56 assembly seats in 12 states of the country are proposed on November 3 and November 7. Out of the 56 seats in the assembly where bye-elections are proposed, 28 seats are in Madhya Pradesh.

Chidambaram tweeted that in the US election, Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden said yesterday that we choose hope rather than fear, instead of division, unity, science rather than imagination and choice of truth instead of falsehood. The people of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and any part of the country should be kept in their minds while going to the polling booth this month.
