Thiruvananthapuram: PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet with chief ministers of all states on Saturday through video conferencing. Earlier, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has requested him to arrange cash transfer in the account of every poor family in the states where the Congress party is in government. Chidambaram also asked the Congress Chief Ministers to remind PM Modi of the poor. Former home minister Chidambaram said that the poor have lost their jobs and their deposits have run out. They are now standing in queues to get free food. He said that only 65,000 thousand crore rupees will be spent to meet the needs of the poor, which is economically viable. Chidambaram tweeted that, 'CM Amarinder Singh, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel, V Narayanasamy, Uddhav Thackeray and E Palaniswami should tell PM Modi today that as life is important, livelihood of the poor is also important. ' Chidambaram further wrote that the poor have lost their jobs or self-employment in the last 18 days. Some of his savings have now been exhausted. Many people have lined up to eat. ' Chidambaram asked if states could starve the poor in a similar way. The former Union Minister said that the Chief Ministers should demand that the cash be immediately transferred to the account of every poor family. Reminding the poor should be their unanimous demand.
