Pak govt to approach G20 against India’s plan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government has decided to make contact with G20 nations in an effort to prevent India from hosting a summit or event of the group in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

Any attempt by India to make such a claim has been vehemently denied by Pakistan's foreign ministry "Jammu and Kashmir is a recognised international boundary dispute between India and Pakistan. Since 1947, India has been occupying the region forcibly and illegally, and this conflict has been on the UN Security Council's agenda for more than seven decades ".

In a statement, the Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs said, "Considering the holding of any G20 related meeting or event in J&K, in utter disregard of the globally acknowledged disputed status of the territory, is a travesty that the international community cannot accept under any circumstances." The statement further said that it is anticipated that the G20 members would flatly reject any such request from India.

Pakistan has also demanded the release of Yasin Malik and all other political detainees held in Indian prisons.

source said,  Pakistan would specifically speak with nations like China, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia to express its concerns. In order to oppose Indian ambitions, Islamabad would also communicate with the US, the UK, and other G20 members.
