The first teaser video of the much-awaited Urban Cruiser Hyryder by Toyota India was released ahead of the global debut on July 1, 2022. The midsize SUV will be manufactured in Karnataka at its manufacturing plant of Toyota.
The said teaser revealed the design of the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, it has revealed some parts of the Cruiser’s front, side, and rear profiles.
The shots from the teaser confirmed that it will be equipped with a Suzuki touchscreen infotainment system. The Toyota Urban Cruiser is most likely to have many features, including, connected car technology, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and many other.
The SUV will be available in a Nebula Blue exterior, additional to the that the SUV will also have a 360-degree camera, as seen in the video.
The SUV will be coming with a 1.5-liter petrol engine with both mild0hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrains. As far as the engine is concerned, it will produce an output of 103PS for the mild-hybrid and 116PS for the self-charging hybrid system respectively. The strong-hybrid setup will be a front-wheel-drive only, whereas, the mild-hybrid-equipped variant will also get a first-in-segment AWD option.
Toyota will be starting series production of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in August, whereas the market launch is also most likely to happen in the same or in early September.
The expected price of the SUV is Rs 10.5 lakh onwards. Its market competitors will most likely be Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, and its Maruti Suzuki counterpart.
