Washington: A group of Pakistani nationals living in the US has condemned the relations between the Pakistani Army and terrorist organizations. The group says it is scandalous to give and receive any kind of assistance by the Pakistani military to terrorist organizations. Expressing deep disappointment over the continuing military intervention and denial of democratic freedom in Pakistan, the group asked the mainstream parties to take steps to give the highest place to ordinary citizens in the country and to uphold the rule of law. The group has said that Pakistan's military should stop using extremist terrorist groups as tools of foreign and domestic policy. Under the banner of the South Asian Against Terrorism and For Human Rights (SAAT) forum, the group, with former Pakistan Ambassador to the US Hussein Haqqani, said security agencies should close the torture camp. 'Saath' said in a resolution that, 'We are disappointed with the mainstream political parties of Pakistan. These parties should have internal democracy and they should know that democracy is not meant to gain power only through elections. The resolution states that, 'Pakistan's mainstream political parties should stand for constitutional governance and law and order for the empowerment of the people and not just confine power to influence elections.' Members of the group also passed a resolution in the fourth edition of 'Saath', raising demands to stop military repression in Balochistan.
