Pakistan court gives custody of 13-year-old Christian girl who was kidnapped, raped and converted to Islam to abductor

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan court has granted the custody of a 13-year-old girl Christian girl to her 44-year-old abductor, Ali Azhar. The minor girl was kidnapped from her home on 13 October at the railway colony in Karachi. He was then raped and then forced to convert to Islam and marry the kidnapper.

Pakistan journalist Bilal Farooqui confirmed the court's decision on Twitter. Along with tweet, he posted the birth certificate of the abducted girl issued by the Sindh government. In this, her age is written on 31 July 2007. Despite evidence that the victim is a minor, the court has ordered the kidnapper to accompany the girl on the basis of the affidavit signed by her.

It is worth noting here that Sindh Provincial Assembly enacted the Sindh Child Marriage Prevention Act in 2014. So that child marriage can be stopped and adult men can be punished up to three years of imprisonment. Accused Ali Azhar is already married and has children.
