NEW DELHI: An Indian diplomat has strongly condemned Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council on the Kashmir issue. Aryan, who hails from Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, has said that the principle of self-determination adopted by Pakistan poses a serious threat to countries in the world where many castes and religious communities live together.  "The self-determination Pakistan envisages is actually government-sponsored cross-border terrorism and in reality support means providing military, financial and logistic support to terrorism against India," he said.

Aryan said the biggest trouble in Jammu and Kashmir arises from the active impetus of cross-border terrorism by Pakistan and the continued violation of the right to life of the people of Kashmir by Pakistan through the use of terrorism as a tool of government policy. "Pakistan must fulfill its commitment under the 1972 Shimla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration of 1999," Aryan said.
