Pakistan have to give counsellor access to Kulbhushan Jadhav after international pressure

Islamabad: The Pakistani government has agreed to give counsellor access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is jailed for espionage. Pakistan will provide counsellor access to Kulbhushan Jadhav under Pakistani law as per the Vienna Treaty. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Wednesday delivered its verdict in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.

The ICJ had stayed Jadhav's execution after hearing arguments from both sides. The ICJ has said that Pakistan should reconsider its decision on Jadhav. The ICJ said that the process of trial of Kulbhushan should be reconsidered. The ICJ said Pakistan clearly violated the Vienna Convention. Pakistan has also violated human rights. The ICJ also said that Jadhav should be given political support.

A Pakistani military court has sentenced Jadhav to death for espionage, which India has termed as baseless. Former Indian Navy official Kulbhushan Jadhav was kidnapped by Pakistani agencies from Iran on March 3, 2016, where he had gone for business.
