ISLAMABAD: In view of the coronavirus deaths in Iran, Pakistan has temporarily closed its border with neighboring countries and without any strict screening at entry points into Balochistan province, Pakistan has decided not to allow anyone's entry.

Pakistani media quoted provincial Home Minister Jiaullah Langov as saying, "We have closed the border adjoining Iran on all 5 entry points Taftan, Gwadar, Turbat, Panjgur, and Washuk." However, the Iranian government has said that it has not banned travel from Pakistan and its border is open. A spokesman for the Iranian consulate in Quetta has said, "We are giving visas to deserving people, including devotees, who are applying for it."

Giving information to the media, a senior security officer posted in Taftan has said, "All the entrances entering Pakistan in Taftan were sealed this morning." The official further said that patrolling has also been intensified along the Iran border to keep a close watch on the movement of people. 4 other entry points present in Turbat, Gwadar, Panjgur, and Washuk districts have also been closed. 6 people have died in Iran due to Coronavirus.
