New Delhi: Pankaj Advani has won the IBSF World Billiards title while performing brilliantly at the World Billiards Championship. This is the 22nd title of his career. This is 34-year-old Advani's fifth title in the last six years in the short format of billiards. Like last year, Advani registered an easy 6–2 win against local contender Nay Thway Oo in the final. Advani got off to a great start to the match and soon took a 3–0 lead with breaks of 145, 89 and 127. Thway Oo won the next frame with breaks of 63 and 62. Advani then won the match easily with an unbroken break of 150 and a break of 74 to settle for the second consecutive year in the Thway Oo silver medal. No player has won more World Q titles than Advani of Bengaluru. After winning the 22nd world title, Advani said, 'Every time I take part in the World Championship, one thing is clear - there is no shortage in my motivation. This victory is proof that my hunger and the fire inside me is intact. Advani will have to achieve the rhythm in snooker within 24 hours as he has to compete in the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker and World Team Snooker Championship.
