1- Ashwin is number one in the list of Indians who have completed the fastest 100 wickets in Test cricket and Ashwin has completed 100 wickets in the 18th Test, breaking the record of Irapalli Prasanna. While Prasanna did it in 20 Tests.
2- Ashwin has done the same test in a century and five wickets and is the only Indian cricketer to do so. What's more, both times he have done it against the West Indies.
3- The 280-run partnership between Ashwin and India's opener Rohit Sharma is also the biggest partnership for India in the Test for the seventh wicket. The partnership record of 259 runs was broken by both VVS Laxman and Mahendra Singh Dhoni against South Africa in 2010.
4- About 7 years ago, in December 2012, Ashwin completed 500 runs and 50 wickets in the Test. He became the third cricketer in the world to do the fastest.
5- Ravichandran Ashwin has become the 'Man of the Series' six times in Test history and has also trailed Sachin Tendulkar-Virendra Sehwag. Sachin and Sehwag have been named 'Man of the Series' five times. He was also the fourth Indian cricketer to become the man of the match in the Debut Test.
