NEW DELHI: On Thursday, a parliamentary committee will present its report to the Lok Sabha on the "Covid-19 Pandemic: Global Response, India's Contributions, and the Way Forward." P.P. Chaudhary, Panel's chairman and BJP legislator chairman, will present the report to the House. A report by the Standing Committee on Defence titled "Assessment of Welfare Measures Available to War Widows and Families in Armed Forces" will be presented by BJP MP Jual Oram. Meanwhile, a report of the Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas on the subject 'Safety and Security of Oil Installations of Public Sector Oil Companies with Specific Reference to Western Offshore Mishap during Cyclone Taukta' will also be tabled by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. In addition, the government will work to have the House debate and approve the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Bill in 2022. The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Third Amendment) Bill, 2022, will also be a topic of discussion and eventual passage by the government.The bill aims to add particular communities to Himachal Pradesh's list of Scheduled Tribes. A discussion on Anti-Maritime Piracy Bill 2019, which was introduced in the House last week, is also be tabled today. The government will seek to get the bill passed. The bill seeks to make special provisions for the repression of piracy on high seas and to provide for punishment for the offence of piracy.
