New Delhi: India's rising badminton star Parupalli Kashyap has made it to the semi-finals of the Korea Open. Kashyap defeated world number 30 player Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark 24-22 21-8. In the first game, there was a tough fight between the two. In the first game, both started small rallies and shared the first eight points. Then Kashyap was trailing 8-11 till the break after 5-8. But after the break, they collected fast points and then both reached 14-14, 18-18, 19-19 and 20-20. Kashyap gets the game point but loses it. However the Indian player got a second game point chance and won the first game in 22 minutes before the opponent hit the net. In the second game too, the same trend continued and then Kashyap collected five consecutive points. Jorgensen showed quickness but missed the point by an unforeseen mistake and Kashyap went ahead 11-7. After the break, Kashyap easily scored nine out of 10 points to win the match with Smash. Kashyap, who finished sixth in the world rankings, faced Jorgensen at the Denmark Open five years ago and had a 2–4 record before the match. Let us tell you that Kashyap is the only Indian to play in the Korea Open.
