Paytm has issued a warning to smartphone users asking users to be vigilant when they get the KYC of their accounts. Paytm has issued a notification advising users not to download apps like Anydesk or Quiksupport for KYC. The notification states that through these apps, fraudsters can steal money from the user's account. In recent times, there have been a number of cases of fraud from remote apps such as Anidesk and TeamViewer. Earlier in the year, the Reserve Bank of India had also issued a warning and asked people to beware of these apps. Not only that, given the seriousness of the matter, some banks in the country, such as HDFC, ICICI, and Axis, also advised customers not to download these apps. Both these apps are of great use to the IT sector. They can operate devices at other locations via the Internet, anywhere for tech professional work. Remote apps can also be called screen sharing apps in easy language. Fraudsters call their victim as a fake bank executive. During the phone conversation, it tells the customer about any bank account problems. Not only that, they say, the net banking facility may be blocked if they don't follow the steps they've mentioned. Most customers are caught in the clutches of these fraudsters when they hear of the block. These thugs ask to install a remote app (Ani Desk or TeamViewer) after the customer has been bluffed. After the app is installed, they ask for a 9-digit code for verification from their victim. This is the code by which these fraudsters get full access to their victim's device. They constantly monitor the device's screen. These fraudsters record and retain every activity on the screen. Whenever customers make payments with Mobile Banking, Paytm or UPI after downloading the app, these fraudsters steal their login details easily. It is important to avoid downloading and installing any remote desktop apps until you can access it. Don't understand how to work properly. Also, always remember that no bank ever calls their customer and asks them to download an app. Realme 5 Series Phone India Launch Set for August 20 Google Home Mini getting ‘bundled offer’ with Airtel Internet TV Best smartphones under Rs 10,000 to buy in India
