Flowers showered on the convoy carrying the body of 'CDS Bipin Rawat'

New Delhi: CDS General Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. A total of 13 people including his wife and military officers were killed in the accident. The mortal remains of all will reach Delhi today. But before that, the mortal remains of General Rawat and others were brought by ambulance from Madras Regimental Centre in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu to Sulur Airbase.

The same routes through which ambulances came out showed a huge rush of people on both sides of the road. People showered flowers on ambulances and raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. A video of the same has been released by news agency ANI which shows army vehicles and ambulances passing through the route. People are showering flowers on ambulances and shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. People bid a final farewell to the country's first CDS with moist eyes.

 

 

Tributes will be paid to the mortal remains from around 7.45 pm. The mortal remains of CDS General Bipin Rawat will reach Palam airport around 7.30 pm. Earlier, on the helicopter crash in Parliament, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has ordered a three-service inquiry (Tri-Service Inquiry) into the military helicopter crash. The investigation will be led by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh. Rajnath Singh said that the investigating team reached Wellington yesterday and has already started the investigation.
