Mumbai: A day after the death of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash, a number of questions are being raised. Shiv Sena has recently made a statement. In fact, the Shiv Sena says, "People have doubts in their minds. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh should remove it. A high-level inquiry has been ordered in the matter. Now, recently, senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said, "The General was involved in planning action against China and Pakistan. When such an accident occurs while travelling in a technically advanced helicopter, it raises doubts. Bipin Rawat had the responsibility of modernising weapons in the country. He contributed to the mission against Pakistan and China. After Pulwama, there was a significant contribution in the action against the Lashkar. When such an accident occurs while travelling in a technically advanced helicopter, questions definitely arise. There is doubt in the minds of the people. An inquiry will be conducted by the Government. But it is the responsibility of the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister to clear these doubts. '

He further said, "Doubts arise over the accident when there is tension between India and China. He worked closely with General Rawat when he was a member of the Defence Committee. General Rawat simplified several complex issues for the understanding of the committee members. The accident has shaken the government as well as the country. Raising further questions, he said, 'Why were senior army ranking officers travelling together? In 1952, a helicopter carrying Army officers crashed in Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir). There were about five or six officers of the rank of Lieutenant General and Major General. Since then, there was a directive that officers of that rank should not travel together. In this accident, General Saheb was a high tanking officer and his juniors were also travelling with him. It is a big loss.''

He added, "If the House is allowed to discuss the accident, they would like to discuss the issue of national security in Parliament. It was a technically advanced helicopter. This incident has shaken not only the country but also the Government. If there is any discussion on it, we will speak in Parliament. We hope that the Government will at least allow this issue to be discussed. There is tension with China. There is doubt in the minds of the people about the accident that is taking place at such a time.''
