Petrol diesel prices remain stable for third consecutive day, but big changes may soon

NEW DELHI: There was no change in petrol and diesel prices on Thursday amid the sluggish price of crude oil in the international market. Petrol prices did not see any change in petrol prices for the third consecutive day on Thursday. Similarly, after a four-day fall, diesel prices remained stable for the second consecutive day at the old level.

Earlier in the day, diesel prices had fallen by 32 paise a litre for four consecutive days. In Delhi, petrol prices remained stable at Rs 65.11 a litre on Thursday, while diesel prices remained stable at Rs 71.84 a litre. On Thursday morning, petrol prices in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were Rs 74.54, Rs 77.50 and Rs 74.63 per litre, respectively. Similarly, diesel prices in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were recorded at Rs 67.49, Rs 68.26 and Rs 68.80 per litre, respectively.

Experts are hopeful that the price of petrol and diesel will come down further in the coming days. Petrol and diesel prices have been on the decline since the beginning of August. Earlier, petrol prices had increased on July 31 and July 24.
