Diesel, Petrol prices remain unchanged for 27th straight day

New Delhi: The prices of petrol and diesel have consistently been a relief to the common man in the month of October. Indian oil companies (IOC, HPCL & BPCL) have not made any change in the prices of petrol-diesel today. Meaning that the price of fuel remains the same for the 27th consecutive day. However, due to the economic crisis due to COVID-19 and the subsequent pressure on revenue, the Center can again increase the excise duty on petrol and diesel. Sources indicated that if the government felt the need to raise more resources to finance additional economic reform packages, the excise duty on petrol and diesel would be hiked by Rs 3 to 6 per litre soon. 

Let us tell you that the price of petrol and diesel changes every morning at six o'clock. The new rates are applicable from six o'clock in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things, the price of petrol and diesel gets almost doubles its price. Petrol and diesel prices change every day depending on what the prices of crude are in the international market along with foreign exchange rates.

Know the petrol and diesel prices in big cities of the country 

Delhi -Petrol of petrol is Rs 81.06 and Diesel stands Rs 70.46 per liter. Mumbai- The price of petrol is Rs 87.74 and diesel is Rs 76.86 per litre. Kolkata- Petrol is Rs 82.59 and diesel is Rs 73.99 per litre. Chenna- Petrol costs Rs 84.14 and diesel is Rs 75.95 per litre. Noida- Petrol is Rs 81.58 and diesel is Rs 70.00 per litre. Lucknow- Petrol is Rs 81.48 and diesel is Rs 70.91 per litre. Patna- Petrol is Rs 73.73 and diesel is Rs 76.10 per litre. Chandigarh- Petrol is Rs 77.99 and diesel is Rs 70.17 per litre.
