Lamborghini, the Italian luxury automobile manufacturer is likely to invest INR 1,750 crore in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture electric golf carts and a battery swapping unit. The sources say, the State government has received a proposal from electric vehicle maker Kinetic Green evincing interest in setting up a manufacturing facility for electric golf carts and a battery swapping unit with an investment of Rs 1,750 crore in AP.

The Lamborghini is planning to set up the plant in a Special Economic Zone in the Andhra Pradesh State to manufacture electric golf carts and a battery swapping unit. Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions, is a part of the Pune-based Kinetic Group, is in joint venture with Tonino Lamborghini in India from Febrauary 2018 for design and manufacture of premium segment golf carts and other electric off-road vehicles. The location expected is in the Special Economic Zone near a port for the golf cart project and also for the battery swapping (infrastructure) to promote electric three-wheeler irrespective of the brand. The combined investment of INR 1,750 crore is estimated.
