Kozhikode: Air India Express aircraft, which were bringing back stranded India under the Vande Bharat Abhiyan, fell victim to an accident at Kozhikode Airport in Kerala. The runway was flooded due to heavy rains and at the time of landing the aircraft slipped and fell into a trench about 50 feet deep. 18 people died in the accident in which both pilots were present. A total of 190 people were on board the plane. 174 people have been saved. More than 100 people have been injured in the accident. The condition of many people is critical. While landing on the tabletop runway number 10 of Karipur Airport in Kozhikode at 7.41 pm on Friday evening, I fell victim to the accident and got hit in two pieces. The first part has suffered more. How it happened 1- It was raining and the flight was landing on the runway. 2- Lights were also low due to rain, which caused the accident 3- The aircraft proceeded after the end of the runway and fell into the ditch 4- 2 pieces of the aircraft collapsed, causing further damage to the next part 5- The plane did not fire, which saved a large number of lives. Officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that although the plane did not fire after the accident, otherwise there would have been more loss of life and property. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA has ordered a detailed investigation into the accident. The front part of the aircraft suffered extensive damage.
