PM lauds Singer Who Went Viral For Singing 'Kesariya' In 5 Languages

NEW DELHI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared a video on his social media account wherein a young singer is seen singing the KESARIYA song from the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer film Brahmastra in multiple languages.

The video includes Mumbai-based Sikh artist Snehdeep Singh Kalsi, who sang the song in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi.

That is a wonderful representation of the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," said PM Modi. "Came across this beautiful version by the talented Snehdeep Singh Kalsi," the prime minister tweeted. It is a fantastic embodiment of the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," in addition to the song. "Superb!"

The "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" campaign and slogan were also developed by the Indian government to promote respect for cultural diversity and racial harmony.

Using the idea of state-to-state pairing, this initiative seeks to improve communication and foster understanding between individuals from various states and UTs. In the fields of language instruction, culture, traditions, and music, tourism, gastronomy, sports, and the exchange of best practises, among other things, the states engage in activities to establish a sustained and structured cultural link.

The artist personally retweeted the prime minister's article and expressed his gratitude in a tweet that was pinned. "Sir, I really appreciate your praise. That is significant. I'm very happy it got to you and that you liked it," he wrote.

Meanwhile, Snehdeep had recorded and uploaded this song last year in July 2022. He had devoted his rendition of the song in his post to his friends and former coworkers from Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Kesariya ended up covering it in all 5 languages, he wrote. ever since the teaser was released,  I started listening to the translations in several languages and couldn't resist trying them all. This one is specifically for all of my friends and former coworkers from Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad who have long requested a cover of a local song. I've done my best to attempt this so far. I hope everyone enjoys it. Let me know how you feel about it."
