NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, March 16, held a meeting with his top ministers in Parliament.
Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Agriculture, Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju, and Minister of Information and Broadcasting were among the ministers present.

The second leg of the parliamentary budget session is currently in its fourth day. Yesterday  Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced disruptions for the third consecutive day with Congress and other opposition parties compelling  on their demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani-Hindenburg row while the BJP members seeking an apology from Rahul Gandhi over his remarks made in London.

Recently, Congressman Rahul Gandhi said at a speech at Cambridge University in London "Everyone is aware that the Indian democracy is under threat and has been frequently in the headlines. I am a leader of the opposition in India, and we are navigating that territory." 

"The institutional framework which is required for a democratic Parliament, free press, the judiciary, just the idea of mobilization, moving around all are getting constrained. Hence, we are facing an attack on the basic structure of Indian democracy," he had said.

The second leg of the ongoing Budget Session 2023 will continue till April 6.

Earlier on March 13, a meeting of Congress MPs under the chairmanship of party president Mallikarjun Kharge also took place at the party's Parliamentary Party (CPP) office in Parliament to chalk out the strategy.
